Billboard Backup

Bill boards and other large outdoor display boards require electricity to power the lamps in the evening and at night.

Some bill boards have access to regular electricity while others are situated in isolated locations without any access to regular electricity and as such must depend on generators to function.

Even with access to regular electricity nothing is guaranteed as the power situation in Nigeria is no secret, no serious electricity dependent project depends solely on the availability of 24 hrs power supply.

A better way to handle this is to provide inverter backup systems where access to electricity exist or to use solar panels to generate electricity during the day, store them in batteries and use inverters to provide clean power when needed.

However, as we have always preached doing an energy efficiency program will help to reduce the load, cost of the inverter, battery bank while increasing the backup time. There is simply no downside to energy efficiency.
